Donations

The number of older people in Dudley grows each year, so Age UK Dudley cannot stand still.  We constantly need to plan ahead to maintain and expand our services to meet ever changing needs.

Although we receive grants for some of our activities, nothing is ever guaranteed, so to continue our work for and with older people across the Borough we depend greatly on the generous support of local people.

However much you can give, whether it is a regular payment or a single donation we guarantee that every penny will be spent in Dudley for the people of Dudley.

A donation can be made by Cheque or Postal Order.  Please print out and complete the postal donation form and Gift Aid Declaration (if applicable) and return it to the Finance Manager, at the address on the form.  You can also make a secure online credit or debit card donation by visiting www.cafonline.org
If you click on "For Individuals", then "Find a Charity" and key in Age Concern Dudley.

Gift Aid

Gifts to charity are eligible for Gift Aid, which means that if you are a UK Income or Capital Gains Tax Payer, your donation could be worth 28% more at no cost to you.  To allow us to reclaim the tax on your gift please sign and date the Gift Aid Declaration at the bottom of the donation form and we will do the rest.  You do not need to be in employment as any tax you pay on savings or pensions means that you qualify as a tax payer.

Donations in Memory

When we lose someone it is only natural that we would wish to remember happier times to help soften our grief.  Celebrate the life of a loved one by choosing to make a donation in their memory instead of giving flowers.  Ask the Funeral Director to do this and they will arrange for the donation in lieu of flowers to come to Age UK Dudley.

Volunteer

In addition to donations of money you can also help by donating your time as a volunteer.  Please call Rene' Evans on 01384 356150 for more information on volunteering with Age UK Dudley.

Legacies

Legacies are such an important part of our income and allow us to offer services we otherwise could not afford to run.  Everyone who leaves a gift to Age UK Dudley is playing their part in our future.  Whatever you leave, no matter how small, is a truly unique gift - it is your way of ensuring that your kindness lives on.

We all go through significant changes in our lifetime, such as moving home, retirement or the loss of a loved one and our Will should play an important role in reflecting these changes.

Some important questions before we continue:

Do you have an up to date Will?

Do you know how easy it is to make a Will or update your existing one?

Did you know that you can include a charity which is important to you in your Will?

Did you know your gift to Charity would be exempt from Inheritance Tax?

Your answers to some of these could well be "No".  This is not unusual; many of us are reluctant to face our own mortality; a Will is something that other people do, or something that we intend to do "tomorrow" , in fact latest research shows that three in five people have never updated their Will, despite almost two-thirds of Wills being made over five years ago, and a third more than 10 years ago.

To ensure you plan your giving and minimise the liability of Inheritance Tax, the importance of having a Will and one that is up-to-date cannot be overstressed.

Pledging a legacy to Age UK Dudley will ensure we can help other people to remain independant and live healthier, fulfilling lives.  Should you wish to leave us a legacy please make sure your will states "Age Concern Dudley - Registered Charity No 1084182".

If you wish to include a Legacy in your Will, if you do not have a Will or are not sure whether your current Will fully meets your wishes and minmises the future tax liability on your Estate, then  please seek professional advice.

Age UK Dudley in partnership with Guardian Wills can assist you in arranging all aspects of writing or revising your Will or an Enduring Power of Attorney to reflect your current circumstances and future wishes.  To make an appointment (a home visit can be arranged if you are housebound) or for more information please call us on 01384 354508.
